It’s finally summer, which means dining al fresco, barbecues, and lounging by the pool. It’s also perfect weather for an ice cold beer. As beverage packaging is one of our specialties, we pay close attention to seasonal beer packaging trends.
Here is what you’ll see in grocery stores, bars, or even in your friend’s cooler.
Craft Beer, Now In Cans
Some consumers believe that drinking out of a can is a negative experience, but craft beers are bringing it back. Beer aficionados know that cans better protect beer from heat and sunlight, and modern aluminum cans even include a protective coating to maintain the product’s taste.
Some beer brands even give their cans a “glass-feel” which means the lip is raised (the section near the tab) and, according to Sam Adams, reportedly improves the taste experience.
Lightweight, Low-Impact
A lightweight beer can is better for beer lovers and beer brands, as such beverage containers are almost 100% more sustainable than glass bottles due to the recycling power of aluminum, easier to transport and store, and lower-cost to manufacture, all of which reduce raw material and overall energy usage.
Simple, Effective
In terms of can design, simplicity is becoming more important to shoppers. Subtle colors and patterns make brands easier to identify and place more focus on the strength of the product. See our craft packaging example of Anheuser Busch’s Budweiser
High Quality, Low-Cost
Advanced digital presses allow us to produce large-quantity runs that include high-quality images created through spot UV and emulated embossing. Through this process, we save you money by reducing waste and saving production time.
Different Sizes, New Sales
Some brands are beginning to sell beverages in packaging of different heights to help stand out from the competition. Simple differences in height and width help brands attract more attention on shelves and end-caps.
