Those familiar with home lawn care and gardening are no strangers to the “lawn bag.” That over-sized paper grocery bag piled-high with the first freshly cut grass, weeds, and decomposing leaves is a familiar sight to many homeowners. Our client Santosh Arcot was developing a product the would increase the convenience of the lawn bag.

With the invention of Santosh’s HopperTopper product, gone would be the days of the narrow and unsteady lawn bag. The final form of the new product, however, Santosh had yet to determine. Rather than reinvent the lawn bag, our team helped the HopperTopper development process rethink the size, shape, and material needed to achieve what Santosh was seeking:
We encouraged Santosh and his team to think “outside the bag.” The lawn bag represents an entire industry, so the HopperTopper would have to compliment the existing lawn care industry in order to effect change and attract new clients. What emerged during the process was the perfect addition to any lawn bag.
