Our Story
Create It Packaging started with one structural designer and a strong opinion about what a packaging prototype ought to be.
Founder and CEO Brian Lewis trained as a structural designer at leading consumer packaging firms, arriving in the industry just as computer-aided design was transforming the craft. He learned handcrafted structural design from the people who had built the trade by hand, then helped carry it into a digital era. Along the way he found his niche: packaging mockups and prototypes accurate enough to be mistaken for production.
In 1996, with a small business loan and some help from a friend, Brian bought a small structural packaging firm from his mentor and colleague Tom Sellers. What began as a one-man operation is now a team of roughly 25 people, and the business has grown to more than thirty times its original size.
Today we design and produce production-ready packaging prototypes — pairing structural design expertise with the latest digital printing technology, so brands, agencies, and manufacturers can see and hold their packaging before committing to expensive production tooling.
